Why is it so difficult to try and take a longer vacation than a week, why do We Get All Uppity?

What is the advantage for YOU or any of us taking a Holiday-break!

A complete escape from the rigours and stress of work is the goal of taking a well deserved Holiday.

But can we truly recover in a week or 5 days holiday break that involves packing, travelling, unpacking, attempting to rest, packing again heading back home and reporting back to work?

Leaders might demonstrate by example that a two-week break is completely ordinary.

The attitude of the office is “we don’t stress” if you are going to be gone for a week.

In a weeks’ time she/he will return.

Whatever “it” may be, it has that much patience. But for the task to continue after two weeks, a system must be already formed and in place.

When such event occurs, then perhaps seize the opportunity to take the initiative and learn something new.

After all, Organizations that follow thru on innovation replenish their creative and energetic supplies. Ways of work are strengthened by implementing new ideas and systems, personal growth, and self-assurance.

Set a good example by taking a two-week vacation yourself, if that is not already the norm given all the work you’ve done to assemble a competent staff.

Take a long-term perspective on the employment compact’s changing nature and people’s expectations, especially those who have the most options. Include this cultural shift in your offer to present and potential employees.

Be confident that by letting everything function without you during your vacation, you’re building a stronger employees and company’s’ mindset.

Therefore ready, set, off you go and recharge!
