Job Description

Advance Career, on behalf of our client, a Technology Solutions organization in Larnaca, we are seeking to recruit a Senior SQL Developer;

Handle the database environment as individual contributor for designing and troubleshooting
Diagnose server reliability, performance issues and fine tune those issues starting from Index level, Table level and Database level
Handle the deadlocks, locks, blocks and design the flow of the objects and queries in sequenced way
Design the Cost Threshold, MaxDOP, Legacy Cardinality, Asynchronous statistics, Parameter sniffing and Query Store
Running of SQL Profiler, Extended Events and querying server to identify performance problems on servers experiencing bottlenecks
Finding DMV queries to answer questions about server-level performance at instant and troubleshooting even if the data goes around 25 million in table
Plan activities like Installation, Upgradation (In-Place, Side by Side), Service Packs, Patches (QFE, CU & GDR), configuration settings in SQL Server and also handled with missing .msi & .msp files
Create Schema, Synonym, Sequence, Assembly and CLR based on the requirements
Implementation of SQL Logins, Users and Authentication Modes as a part of Security Policies for various categories of Clients
Perform Integrity checks for databases to overcome vulnerability to corruption
Configure SQL Jobs and SQL Auditing from login to user level changes
Designing and monitoring of comprehensive Backup plan and recovery strategies
Troubleshooting of SQL server instances on failure
Figuring out the exact reasons for performance issue and sorting out based on the project environment also Rebuilding/Reorganize the indexes based on the fragmentation level for better performance

Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, InformationTechnology or related field preferred
Microsoft certifications (70-461 Development & 70-462 Administration) will be an added advantage
8 – 10 years Microsoft SQL Server Developer and administration experienced in across version of 2005/2008/2008R2/2012/2016
Deep knowledge about Indexes and Performance tuning like handle the memory spills, Disk IO, hash join, RID Lookup, Key Lookup, Table scan, Index scans, parallelism, adaptive join in SQL Server
Good Understanding in SLQ Server Wait_info/ Wait_Types
Experience in memory grants IO, Plan cost, cache costs and also deep knowledge in Actual execution plans and estimated execution plans
Create databases and database objects and should have worked in Transact-SQL, like creating stored procedures, views, functions (UDF), Triggers and writing Ad-hoc queries for project maintenance
Good knowledge in Encryption, encrypting the data from Column level, table level and Database level by knowing AES, TDE and CLE
Deep knowledge in implementing In-Memory OLTP and table Partitioning for databases based on business needs.
Ability to design the requirement from database level as individual performer after discussing with other application development teams, also experienced working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
Experience in SQL Server Disaster Recovery and High Availability setups will be an added advantage.
Knowledge in SQL Server Mirroring and Replication will be an added advantage
Experiences in Data warehousing using SSAS / SSIS / SSRS for OLTP and OLAP will be an added advantage.
Experience with data management and data processing flow charting techniques
On-call troubleshooting experience with at least one production SQL Server for a year
Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices. Knowledge of standard Reports from SQL Server
Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives, also having good interpersonal, written, Technical documentation and oral communication skills
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language and to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
