Senior Accountant (Shipping/Investments)-Limassol

Job Description

Advance Career, on behalf of our client, a well-established Shipping and Investments Organization, is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant;

Responsibilities:
Responsible for reviewing the day to day process of general ledger postings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset ledger and cash and bank.
Responsible for the preparation of VAT reporting.
In charge of the invoicing process and following up with customers.
Reviewing the vendor reconciliations.
Preparation of accruals and prepayments for Management/ Statutory Statements.
Assist the Bank reconciliation process.
Assist in the preparation of various Management reports and analyses (financial, cash flows, budgets).
Supporting the Finance Managers with reporting and annual budget process.
Reviewing of the daily work of lower level accounting personnel and posting of corrective entries in the accounting records.
Support the new ERP system and BI implementation.
Become a power user of the IT systems of the department in order to extract information for ad hoc report preparation, but also other routine reporting.

Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting/Finance or Relevant
LCCI Higher or Equivalent
5+ years within a Finance function, at a similar role.
Additional experience in any of the following areas will be considered an advantage:
Investment Banking institution/ Family office/Shipping Industry
Experience in supervising a small team of 2-3 accountants will be considered an advantage.
Strong knowledge on VAT
Knowledge of IFRS standards required
Strong Analytical skills
Familiar with the Cyprus Indirect Tax Laws (VAT)
